megawatt823 1/31/2010 Denver , CO Dr. Snyder is an amazing surgeon and an amazing person. From the moment I met him, I knew that he was sincere, caring and dedicated. I trust him with my life!

He is highly educated, highly trained and even more so, he is so very down to earth. He was right there with me when my G Tube was placed and he explained why, etc. He is an excellent surgeon. He even called my mom, in Ohio, because she was worried about my having the RNY!

Dr. Snyder gave me my life back and I am so very grateful to him every day that I have had this chance!

Dr. Snyder is an excellent surgeon and I will have no problems telling any and all who will listen to go to through his office! AND!! The aftercare is amazing, too. I am HIGHLY satisfied!
kannruss 1/29/2010 Broomfield, CO I would be lying if I didn't tell you that I was scared out of my mind to attend Dr Snyder's seminar. I was afraid of being criticized for my weight and for letting things get out of hand. For me I think it was very hard to admit that I wasn't able to lose weight on my own. I did, however, force myself into the car and to the seminar. I was pleasantly surprised at how many people were there, in the same situation as I was or sometimes worse.
When Dr Snyder introduced himself and began telling all present about his experience, the practice, the specific procedures, the requirements, the qualifications, everything we needed to know, that's when you could tell that he truly has a heart for the overweight and obese and wants to help. Not once did he say anything that would make me think that he was judging any of us for our circumstances. He was compassionate, understanding and he looked all of us in the eyes. During the course of the seminar, he gave us the necessary tools to evaluate his practice or any other surgeon who we might see for these procedures. He emphasized his interest in safety and announced the safeguards he has in place to ensure a successful outcome.
Dr. Snyder has a great sense of humor and he has a way of making you feel very comfortable. When I went for my consultation Dr Snyder appeared to be the same person one on one as he was at this seminar. I really enjoyed meeting Dolly, his insurance specialist. She was attentive and spent as much time as I needed to understand what was required of me in order to get my provider to approve me for surgery. I never felt like she was rushing me at all, and yet she knew her stuff backwards and forwards. She was very encouraging. I can say that his front office staff seemed extremely busy so I didn't really get a good read on them but I am sure that they are also friendly and helpful. Dr Snyder wants to know about anything that you aren't happy with in his practice so if they weren't up to his standards I'm sure he'd know about it and change it.
I think future patients should know that Dr Snyder has excellent credentials and patient reviews, he appears to really care about each patient, and he has a great personality. It's a hard decision to research surgery but if losing weight is going to save or improve your life, I recommend that you not allow fear to hold you back and attend a seminar.
From everything that I have heard so far, Dr Snyder's office puts a huge weight on aftercare. I haven't had surgery yet but I have heard countless times that you are not only picking a surgeon or program for the actual surgery but you are picking a program for life. I think it's very important that a support structure is in place for patients post-surgery and from what I can tell Dr Snyder and his years of experience have put together an excellent aftercare program, complete with support groups in numerous areas in the Denver metro area. There is a monthly calendar of events that is distributed.
Dr Snyder is very cautious to ensure that any surgery he performs is as safe as possible. This is why he asks that all patients get pulmonary and psychological evaluations prior to his "green-light" for surgery. In some patients, depending on their health situation he will ask for additional consultations such as cardiology evaluations. He wants to ensure that he is fully aware of your entire medical condition prior to surgery so he can put in measures to protect you during the procedure. He is extremely focused on the best outcome. His practice's statistics are above the national average and has not only been rated as a Center of Excellence but Aetna has even rated him an Aexcel provider. Aexcel providers have demonstrated superior clinical performance as well as cost containment.
I would have to say I have a very high opinion of Dr Snyder thus far and I have heard the same from a number of other people seeking surgery. I cannot speak to his surgical expertise or bedside manner at this point except to go by his statistics in surgery. I personally think that surgical expertise is more important but that the best surgeons know how to talk to their patients and how to reassure them. I have seen glimpses of these skills in Dr Snyder at his seminar and consultation and I believe he excels in both areas.
enchantress64 11/28/2009 Henderson, CO Dr. Snyder is a wonderful surgeon in that he makes the experience one worth taking and enjoying. No surgery is a wanted thing but sometimes necessary and his personality is a bonus to making it through the tough road. Not to mention he is one of the leading doctors in the bariatric field and I trusted him with my life. Dr. Snyder is a great doctor who not only has a great personality and is very personable, he's willing to take time and answer any questions you may have to make you feel easier in your decision to better your life and take the steps needed on your path to a new, healthy you.

The office staff is very structured in what you, as the patient, must do to start the process of having the surgery. To a mandatory meeting he holds once a month talking about the surgery to a booklet of information leading up to the surgery, the diet and road ahead, after care and diet structure after surgery as well as support groups. They even have a group of nutritionists that you can meet with to help plan out your new menu's or even give you suggestions for purchasing cookbooks by other's who have gone through the process as well.

The insurance part is the most frustrating waiting for acceptance and having to go through the rigamarole of waiting for approval or not, but that's beyond their control and as far as Dr. Snyder and his staff are concerned, I'd suggest everyone in the Colorado area to look into him for a good experience. The surgery itself went smoothly and quicker than he expected it to be.
daphne999 11/17/2009 Hi Dr. Snyder came highly recommended and everything went very well. I think the after care is very good and they definitley know what they are doing. Would recommend him to anyone seeking weightloss surgery.

postalmoose 10/24/2009 Thornton, CO He is a great man and doctor with an impeccable reputation which he takes very seriously. He had been nothing but great to me and really shows his warmth in the times you meet him. Office staff is very helpful and called me alot to make sure all the pre op stuff was in order, especially Dolly. Every pre op specialist I saw had nothing but good things to say about him and his program. My mother had RNY six years ago and she is amazed at how much involved my program is versus hers in Nevada. I would say this is the best place to go and would rate everything so far a nine on a ten scale. Now I am in the honeymoon stage but so far nothing negative to say.
MsLetsDoThis 9/15/2009 Aurora, CO My first impression of Dr. Snyder was that he was going to be right on point for me. He has a great sense of humor and a way of making you feel confident in your decision to have WLS. Dr. Snyder and his staff have a very structured game plan and take you through every step necessary to make this a good experience. Very informative and answered any and all questions asked. I think as time goes on, my overall satisfaction with chosing Dr. Snyder will get nothing but high scores from me.
AbbyQueen2009 8/24/2009 MY first impression was that he was very very knowledgable.

I have no issues with Dr Snyder it is more his staff that I am having issues with. Besides the fact that they never answer the phone or return phone calls and that they are rude 90% of the time I have no issues!!

Well I would hope that I get the chance to have Dr Snyder as my surgeon but as of right now I don't know whats going on with his staff.
LaDawnS 7/17/2009 My husband and I were very impressed with Dr. Snyder and his staff from the beginning. He just continues to impress me as time goes on. He geniunely cares about his patients and it shows in everthing he does. What other doctor gives you his personal cell number so you can contact him anytime of the day or night if you have questions or problems after surgery!? I believe he has the most strict pre surgery requirements and the best pre & post surgery seminars, support groups and informative classes that you'll find anywhere. I've talked to many gastric surgery patients in the last two years and from what I've been told about their doctors and experiences...Dr. Snyder is the BEST THERE IS!!! He's Awesome!!!
raftinglady30 6/25/2009 My first impressions of Dr.Snyder was that he was a very smart and caring man. He has alot of energy which makes you excited. We sat through 2 of his lectures because I just wanted to learn as much as I could and it was fun for me listening to him speak. He is very dedicated to his patients and expects the same dedication out of them. He has a great support system with classes and different things going on. I would recommend him to anybody and think he's just one of the best!
Angelisa Peppers 6/6/2009 Denver, CO My first impression of Dr Snyder was he is an extremely funny man with a huge desire to make peoples lives better. I don't have anything bad to says about Dr Snyder. When I attended his seminar I was so scared at first but Dr Snyder made me feel very comfortable being there. I also enjoyed the fact that at the seminar he doesn't try to cram people together, the seats were spaced perfectly apart. When I went to my first appointment with him I was so excited! Dr Snyder made me even more excited when he told me what his goals were for me, him having confidence in me just made it so much better, and I know for a fact that I will meet his goals for me which are now my goals as well. I am just completely happy with the surgeon I have chosen!
