raftinglady30 6/25/2009 My first impressions of Dr.Snyder was that he was a very smart and caring man. He has alot of energy which makes you excited. We sat through 2 of his lectures because I just wanted to learn as much as I could and it was fun for me listening to him speak. He is very dedicated to his patients and expects the same dedication out of them. He has a great support system with classes and different things going on. I would recommend him to anybody and think he's just one of the best!
Angelisa Peppers 6/6/2009 Denver, CO My first impression of Dr Snyder was he is an extremely funny man with a huge desire to make peoples lives better. I don't have anything bad to says about Dr Snyder. When I attended his seminar I was so scared at first but Dr Snyder made me feel very comfortable being there. I also enjoyed the fact that at the seminar he doesn't try to cram people together, the seats were spaced perfectly apart. When I went to my first appointment with him I was so excited! Dr Snyder made me even more excited when he told me what his goals were for me, him having confidence in me just made it so much better, and I know for a fact that I will meet his goals for me which are now my goals as well. I am just completely happy with the surgeon I have chosen!
jlw_life 5/25/2009 Northglenn, CO I went to several of Dr. Snyder's seminars. Finally I have had the Laparoscopic Roux-en Y gastric bypass. (Thank You) Dr. Snyder is the best at what he does! I had total faith in him and that is why I only wanted him to do my surgery. Dr. Snyder is so compassionate to his patients and is very experienced in what he does. I had a very good experience!
I would like to thank Dr. Snyder's staff, everyone was very personable with me and I felt very comfortable.
Dr. Snyder has a professional guidance team, Kim Delamont in nutrition, his leaders in the support groups are great. Also Amanda is very informative in what questions you might have. Dolly in the office is very compassionate and gets things done! Thank you to Rose Medical Center for having Dr. Syder, he has changed so many lives!

Sincerely,

J. Workman
Edwina R. 3/22/2009 My first impression was that he really seemed to care about people and their feelings about their weight.
My impression has not changed. I have made a few observations, he seems to be very busy and I thought he should hire another surgeon, which he has done very recently.
His office staff have been very knowledgable and very considerate.
The thing I like least about Dr. Snyder is he seems to be in a hurry a lot.
I think patients would want to know that he has been there every step of the way. He has come in on Saturdays when he was supposed to off and come to see us in between other surgeries to make sure we had what we needed.
Dr. Snyder is very big on after care. He will have someone call you if you do not come in when you are supposed to.
He has classes that we go to. They give us a chance to ask questions and Teach us about Nutrition.
Dr Snyder told us about all the risks and gave us his Cell phone number in case we had any questions.
Surgical competence and bedside manner are equal.
Womyn42 3/7/2009 Denver, CO My first impression of Dr. Snyder is that he passionately wants to help obese people become healthy. That impression never changed. He gives you all the tools you need to be sucessful in his program, right down to employing a registered dietician and a notebook of things to expect, things to do to prepare, a shopping list of things to have on hand for after the surgery, a list of expectations as to what you should be doing after surgery to become healthy, and many more tabs.

The office staff was very helpful, although I sometimes had trouble getting calls back. I just had to be my own advocate and keep calling and leaving messages, and emailing when the calls didn't work.

I didn't dislike anything at all about him. He is high energy, and sometimes that's a little intimidating to someone who is basically sedentary like me, but I hope that as the weight comes off, my energy levels will go up, too.

He demands execellence of himself, and he demands it of you, too. Make sure before you have your surgery that you KNOW what you are going into, and the side-effects you could experience because of it. Make sure you follow his eating suggestions BEFORE surgery so that you know how you'll eventually be eating after surgery. LOSE WEIGHT before surgery, it helps him be able to move around in your belly. He does address the risks of the surgery, both physical and emotional, and warns you that there will come a time you'll wonder "why did I ever do this?" I told him that time would never come.

His aftercare program is excellent. There are several different support groups you can attend at the hospital, and he requires visits to his office the week after surgery, then 3 weeks post-op, then 6 weeks post-op, and then again at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, and thereafter once a year. At the first 3 appointments, you also attend nutritional classes so you know what you can be eating and how to transition to the next steps.

I would rate Dr. Snyder a 10, extremely competent, enthusiastic, personable, helpful (he even gives you his personal pager number in case you panic or have problems). And his bedside manner is great, along with his surgical competence.... both are wonderful!
carrieanneon 1/19/2009 If there is a Gold Standard in Bariatric Surgeons, I believer that Dr. Snyder set the bar.

He and his "hand" selected team didn't miss a beat. It is an extraordinary experience to go through this journey with him and his team.

I believe there could be some improvement in the pre-surgical office processes. But as far as the actual procedure. it was well explained and I was given every tool I needed to be successful.

My overall experience was a 99% positive.

aydavis 1/14/2009 Aurora, CO Went to a seminar Dr Snyder host and boy was I impressed. Dr Snyder is professional, yet down to earth and he speaks and explains information in basic terms to be understood. His office staff was present and was excellent in answering questions. I am excited about my journey with Dr Snyder and his staff.
prettymutiny 1/9/2009 Dr. Snyder is a great surgeon; he and his team know what they're doing.
But I'm not going to lie, their post-op is a mess. I read the information book they gave me cover to cover, but there were things I still weren't prepared for after surgery. Gas is really common, but I wasn't prepared for that and I thought the pain and pressure meant something was wrong.
They also stress getting up and moving after surgery, every day, to make sure your metabolism doesn't slow down. I got the impression that if I didn't do exactly what they said, I'd fail. Instead, I would say that each person is different, and you need to listen to your own body. I wasn't ready to get on a treadmill the day after surgery.
Trying to get in contact with them, or at least getting follow-ups for requests like medical record copies is pretty much impossible. They have a lot of patients, and they're very busy, but once you have surgery, I think you fall a little lower on the priority list.
Having said that, I would still recommend them. As I said before, they know what they're doing, and Dr. Snyder is a really nice guy who empathizes with you.
MuseAcal 12/26/2008 Benkelman, NE Dr. Snyder is a high-energy, positive force of life. I believe he has a sincere mission to help morbidly obese people achieve a healthier lifestyle. He is very personable and approachable. His practice is huge, and the only negative comment I have is that for those of us not living in the metro Denver area (I travel from southwestern Nebraska) the support system just isn't in place - yet. I think his support staff members are very good, and are always working to provide excellent aftercare support.
Min2Win 11/26/2008 Denver, CO Dr. Snyder is fantastic. He has a wonderful bedside manner, and he's a perfectionist. If you are going to have someone operate on you, they better be a perfectionist! I have no complaints about Dr. Snyder, but I was not entirely happy with his office staff. I had difficulty getting them to return emails and phone calls. Usually after the third email or call, when I expressed frustration, I'd get a call. I realize how busy they must be, but timely returned communication would have made the process go much more smoothly and with less stress.
